Alerts

The alert section allows the administrator to define threshold rules and actions. Basically any MyConnection Server test that is eligible and violates the threshold rule will trigger the alert action. The Alerts section allows the user to create, modify or report on alerts.

The example to the right shows exactly what you can set when creating an Alert. Alerts can be based around both tests and remote agents. Triggers can be told to send emails, export to an SQL database or write to a log file.

Threshold rules
Threshold rules cover a wide range of measurement criteria for example 'download speed less than 5000Kbps' or 'Data Loss > 5 Kb'. Rules can also define a multiple list of criteria where there is more than one measure required. For example 'speed < 500Kbps and Data lost > 5Kb'.

Actions
The two action types supported are 'send an email' which allows a specific email template to be defined and 'Run a SQL profile' which allows you to pass the test data to another SQL database or SQL compatible application.
